I know that this will be yet another bit of unpopular news.
The short version is that the Student Support Office (SSO) in the Department will no longer exist as we know it. Instead, there will be a South Campus Hub in MECD and a North Campus Hub.
This is all consequent to the Student Experience Project.
Hub services will include:
- General student life enquiries, help with registration and start of year questions.
- Advice and referrals specific to subject areas.
- Welfare, student support and student service general queries.
Students and PGRs being directed to the MECD support hub means that the Kilburn SSO reception will not be open for face to face enquiries for PGRs in the 21-22 academic year. There will be signage and communications for students before the start of term. However, Computer Science SSO staff will return to the Kilburn office to support staff across the School/Department and will work on rotas in a hybrid working model.
