IT Services Availability and Reporting Issues

If you are experiencing issues, such as accessing a university system or connecting to WIFI on campus, please visit the IT Service website. Here you will find service availability information, where any issues currently being experienced on campus are reported and updates on when they hope to fix them. Regular updates are also provided on Twitter.

Any IT issue you are experiencing should be reported via the IT Support Portal. This will help to ensure that the Head of IT Services is aware of all of the problems colleagues are facing.

A message from Alice Larkin regarding report & support

At some point in the last few weeks, the address of a website containing racist, anti-Semitic hate material and graphic images was written on one of the whiteboards in a PhD student office in the Alan Turing Building. This is totally unacceptable behaviour and will not be tolerated. Circulation of discriminatory literature falls under the category of a hate incident, see https://www.reportandsupport.manchester.ac.uk/support/what-is-a-hate-crime.

I would encourage anyone who has experienced any form of harassment, discrimination or hate to report it anonymously or report it and get support from an advisor at: www.reportandsupport.manchester.ac.uk

The University, School and Departments take hate incidents extremely seriously and will investigate them thoroughly and deal with them as appropriate. If left unchallenged, prejudicial attitudes and racism can become normalised, which risks creating a culture of hatred, intolerance and discrimination. It is up to all of us to take responsibility and challenge and reject discrimination and racist behaviour. If anybody has any information about this particular incident, or any other incidents of harassment, discrimination or hate then please do use report and support.

    Many thanks

    Alice, Sarah & Partha

Alice Larkin, Vice-Dean and Head of School of Engineering

Sarah Mulholland, Head of School Operations, School of Engineering

Partha Mandal, Head of EDIA, School of Engineering
