COMP30040: 3rd Year Project (Single Honours 40 Credits) (2010-2011)
The aims for the project work done in the third year are:
To manage and execute a substantial project in a limited time.
To identify and learn whatever new skills are needed to complete the project.
To apply design and engineering skills in the accomplishment of a single task. In this context the skills mentioned may be in the general area of design and engineering in its broadest sense, or may be very specifically related to particular tools.

Students are also required to do 3 assignments as part of the work in the introductory week. These involve preparing a poster, some presentation slides, and a project plan including a Gantt chart. These assignments make up 5% of the marks assigned to the project.
Your Project Supervisor will give you detailed reading concerning your particular project. The following books are generally applicable, however.
