Volunteering and Social Justice Fair, 15 October

Come to the Volunteering and Social Justice Fair!

    11am-3pm Tuesday 15 October

    Academy 1

The Volunteering and Social Justice Fair welcomes around 100 organisations offering volunteering opportunities onto campus. It's a great chance to meet organisations in person to find out more about what they do and how you can get involved! We're inviting a diverse range of charities, non-for-profit organisations and student-led groups with opportunities related to culture, education, the environment, health, sport and social inclusion. There's something for everyone!

The first half hour (11-11.30am) has been designated as ‘Quiet Time’. We know that student fairs can get very busy and loud, and might be overwhelming for some people. The first half hour will have reduced noise and capacity to allow students to browse the fair and get the information they need in a calmer environment.

Sign up to the Facebook event to receive reminders and more information - https://www.facebook.com/events/1674623106004345/.

Call for participants! BBC and UoM Joint User Engagement Study

Call for participants! BBC and UoM Joint User Engagement Study

We’re running a study to explore the relationship between user engagement and interaction data. During the study, you’ll be shown step-by-step how to create an Origami Jumping Frog -- don’t worry, you don’t need any previous origami experience! It will take roughly 40 minutes to complete, depending on how you progress with creating your frog, and you will need one piece of origami paper (you’ll be told where to collect some) but a piece of standard A4, cut into a square (15cm x 15cm), will also work. Compensation will be provided to participants through being entered into a prize draw.

If you would like to participate, please go to the following link for more information: http://bit.ly/uom-bbc-study and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible with further instructions!
